Medjugorje Apartment for Rent

Have you ever wanted to live in Medjugorje?

We did. That's why my wife and I bought an apartment here, and now we spend several months out of the year in Medjugorje with our two children.

Medjugorje apartment Staying here for a long time can be a powerful, life-changing experience; it gives you a total immersion in the miracles that happen in Medjugorje every day.

Now that we are offering our apartment for rent, you can experience a long-term Medjugorje pilgrimage, too.

Our luxury studio apartment—located at the full-service Two Hearts Hotel—features premium furnishings, a private bathroom, a king-sized bed, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a balcony with breaktaking views.

The location, near the base of Apparition Hill and with four of the visionaries as our closest neighbors, is unparalelled.

We wake up every morning to the sound of singing birds; the nighttime air in Medjugorje is often the perfect temperature for leaving the screened windows open during the evening, so, by morning, the air inside our apartment is cool and fresh.

If the outside temperature is not ideal, however, our apartment is equipped with heat and air-conditioning.

Medjugorje rental The first thing we see every morning is the white cross on top of Cross Mountain. You can see the cross from each of our five windows. According to the visionaries, the foot of that cross is where Our Lady prays every morning; looking up at the cross from our apartment, we often start our day with a silent prayer.

We then make some delicious Croatian coffee (coffee maker supplied) as well as breakfast in our kitchen and bring it to our balcony for a relaxing morning meal. With the rising sun starting to bring out the beauty of Medjugorje's green foliage, red roofs and gray rocks, enjoying breakfast on the balcony is a wonderful way to start your day with peace in your heart, and, with the magnificent Cross Mountain as the backdrop, it gives us the perfect setting for spiritual conversation.

We soon get ready for the day and head to St. James Church for Mass. Upon leaving our apartment, it is common to see one of the visionaries who live nearby, such as Ivan, Jakov or Mirjana, outside their homes; they usually smile and say "Dobro Jutro" (good morning). Having spent a lot of time here, we have gotten to know most of the seers and our other neighbors quite well.

To get to Mass, we usually take the peaceful walk on the well-established trail through the fields (taxis are always available as well). Passing by grapevines, wildflowers and the occasional sheep, the fields offer the perfect setting for praying while you walk.

After Mass, our options for the day are endless. We may:

  • Spend time in prayer by the miraculously-weeping Risen Christ statue...

  • Say the rosary by Mary's statue in front of the church...

  • Attend one of the talks by visionaries and/or priests...

  • Take part in perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament...

  • Visit the Cenacalo rehabilitation community to hear inspiring stories...

And so much more; the possibilities are truly endless, but oftentimes it is just getting lost in deep prayer that turns out to be the most poignant experience in Medjugorje.

When the day comes to an end, we sometimes stop by a local market for some dinner items to cook back at our apartment, or pick up a pizza to go. As an alternative, the hotel restaurant features excellent meals which we can choose to enjoy, and there are also some excellent and affordable restaurants nearby.

Medjugorje restaurant Our evening prayers are often said at the Blue Cross, a place of frequent apparitions located at the base of Apparition Hill and only a few short steps from our apartment. The peace of this place is hard to put into words, but we feel very fortunate to live so close to the Blue Cross.

The Two Hearts Hotel, where our apartment is located, also has a beautiful private chapel. With its atmosphere of solitude and several holy relics from saints, this little chapel makes a wonderful place to pray. It is open all day and all night, and we don't even have to leave the building to get there.

Late at night, we often enjoy stargazing from our balcony; it is absolutely marvelous to pray the rosary while admiring the silhouette of Cross Mountain with the starry cosmos as a backdrop. We often see shooting stars. The same scene is also visible from our bed because of the large windows at the apartment. Sometimes, the cross on top of the mountain can be seen to inexplicably glow late at night, something we've witnessed many times.
